What is clear from QATARI DIAR's plans and goals is that it is a company committed to revitalizing developing countries and promoting sustainable growth and economic development.
QATARI DIAR's Morocco development is taking place in Tangier at the luxurious Al Houara Resort. It is a $660 million, 234-hectare coastal resort that combines elements of traditional Moroccan villages with state-of-the-art facilities. QATARI DIAR's plans include the development of hotels ranging from two- to five-star properties along the magnificent beachfront location. A breathtaking 18-hole golf course designed by golf master Graham Marsh in collaboration with Hall of Famer Vijay Singh, as well as an equestrian center with Moroccan spas, restaurants and a kasbah shopping experience, round out the experience.

QATARI DIAR's Syria developments include Ibn Hani Bay Resort, which stretches over 244,000 square meters along Syria's main seaport, Lattakia. This $350 million investment is destined to become a unique tourist destination in Syria. QATARI DIAR is also set to develop a number of projects in other parts of Syria.
QATARI DIAR's Khartoum development of residential towers and a hotel has been progressing on schedule and has been very successful, as investors indicated when the first tower sold out shortly after it was offered.
However, Egypt remains a top focus for QATARI DIAR, as evidenced in its whopping $6 billion investment in that country.
"We see lots of room for continued growth in Egypt," Al-Saad says, citing the country's booming tourist industry from Asian, European and American markets. "Egypt is a rapidly developing country with a rich and iconic history. We see strong potential in Egypt and are strategically developing a diverse range of landmark projects that span the entire country — from the Nile Cornich to the Red Sea.
"We believe in Egypt's long-term growth strategies via a combination of luxury and mixed-use developments. We also
believe the country's quickly expanding role as a regional and even global economic hub with an already well-developed infrastructure makes it particularly prime for a state-of-the-art industrial zone that will help nurture and drive this strong economic demand," he adds.
Throughout all QATARI DIAR's international and domestic projects, sales have been strong. Many of the developments have been posting solid sales, and some quickly sold out once sales began.
From Asia to Europe to the Americas, QATARI DIAR has successfully established itself through its various pro jects around the world. Although it has yet to add the U.S. to its portfolio of developments, it is clearly on QATARI DIAR's agenda if its high-profile acquisitions in continental Europe and the U.K. are any indication.
"We are always looking for opportunities to invest in strategic partnerships around the world, including the U.S. As real estate prices drop around the world, and particularly in the West, there is a unique opportunity to take advantage of some properties that we feel are now undervalued and in a good position for long-term growth," Al-Saad says, without divulging when QATARI DIAR would announce its U.S. expansion or real estate acquisition.
What is clear from QATARI DIAR's plans and goals is that it is a company committed to revitalizing developing countries and promoting sustainable growth and economic development.
"It gives all of us at QATARI DIAR a great amount of pride that what we are doing, and our plans for the communities in which we have become partners, will yield benefits for years to come. Our projects are creating jobs, developing the local and regional economy, driving tourism and employing sound, environmentally safe standards. This vision, in which the State of Qatar is a friend to all and adheres to traditions of faith, culture, community and family, is in all we do at QATARI DIAR.
"I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to help drive Qatar's unique vision of friendship and sustainability not only to my fellow Qataris, but also to our neighbors in the region and beyond. I am proud that each day we go to work not just as representatives of QATARI DIAR, but as global ambassadors to Qatar," Al-Saad says.
There is no doubt that QATARI DIAR, like the State of Qatar itself, has catapulted to tremendous success over the past five years. And there is no question that it will achieve much more in the coming years as it continues to develop communities and make reality of what was only in the imagination a few short years ago.
"In essence, we see ourselves in the same position as the State of Qatar — known to our people, the region and the world as a leader in fostering positive relationships and regional development. I can confidently say that we are well on our way to achieving these goals," Al-Saad concludes.
